Apple iPhone 13

Today we have some bad news  about the apple iPhone 13  and I’ll be sharing the details right after this. So today we’ve got plenty of  information to share about the apple iPhone 13  and some unfortunate news about features that we  may not be seeing before we get started though  please like the video if you’re a fan of apple let  me know down in the comments what device you’re  actually watching todays video on so the first  story of the day is that apple are finally gonna  be getting rid of the notch and they’re going to  favor a punch whole selfie camera instead now  this will actually be for the 2022 iPhones and not  the iPhone 13 but it’s still an unexpected move  the news also comes from ming chi kuo who is as  reliable as it gets when it comes to iPhone leaks  so there’s a good chance that this is true  in his latest research note he states that  at least the high-end 2022 iPhones will adopt  a punch-out selfie camera and if the production  yields are good enough then all models will  use the design it’s going to be interesting  to see how face id is then implemented into the  punch hole design if there’s only one camera it  means that they’re going to either have to settle  for a less secure face id remove it altogether  or maybe they’ve designed a way to have the face  id sensors embedded in the display but of course  there’s no point speculating for now.

Apple iPhone 13

So I’ll  update you guys as soon as we hear something new  we also have news that the next apple event is  going to be on the 23rd of march this is thanks  to kang and Jon prosser and while many hoped that  we could see an iPhone SE at this event that’s  definitely not going to be happening the event  will however be launching the ipads the air pods  and the much anticipated air tags so more on that  as it happens next up we’ve got a lot of news for  the apple iPhone 13 while were normally talking  about new specs and features that are happening  today its more about what’s not firstly many  had hoped for a periscope lens in at least the  premium models of the iPhone 13 but unfortunately  in Ming Chi Kuo latest research notes he states  that it isn’t likely to happen until 2023 but  when it comes to the cameras he does advise of  an improved face id transmitter that could result  in a much smaller notch and he further backs up  the news of censorship stabilization cameras  coming to the entire lineup of the iPhone 13.

Next up we had news that at least the premium  iPhone 13 models would be completely portless  and maybe some could be switching to sub-c now  this is an interesting one is it was actually  ming chi kuo that predicted this in the first  place but it was a very early prediction in  his latest research note though he states that  apple will continue to use the lightning port  and this will be for the foreseeable future now  apparently its waterproofing specification is  higher than sub c but realistically its more down  to the profitability with people needing dongles  as well as separate peripherals to use all their  accessories it means apple makes a lot more money  apple gets a licensing fee from its lightning  connector and given the amount of apple users  we must be talking some pretty big numbers  overall next up we also have news that we may not  be seeing touch id for the iPhone 13.

Apple iPhone 13

We’ve all  been hoping for this as its beneficial to have  touch id on top of face id and given recent times  with mass causing issues then now it seems like  the best time to bring it back unfortunately in  ming chi kuos latest research note he states we  believe that the iPhone will significantly improve  the user experience if it adopts the power button  with a touch id sensor however currently there  is no visibility on the timing of adopting the  new specification so it’s not a definite no but  it does seem very unlikely although as we learnt  from last year there’s still a lot that can change  until the iPhone 13 is finalized and it also makes  no mention of the fingerprint sensor embedded into  the display so of course there’s always hope for  that so it’s a bit of a shame that today a lot  of focus has been on what may not be coming to  the iPhone 13 but let’s not forget that there’s  still plenty of great new specs and features  to remind you were now going to run through the  specs design and the expected pricing of the whole  of the iPhone 13 series for my regular viewers.

Apple iPhone 13

You guys have already seen this well get right into it  so to start with we’ve got the entry-level model  the apple iPhone 13 mini it’s expected to be a  5.4 inch iPhone with an oiled super retina display  it’s expected to have a resolution of 2340 by 1080  and this is often getting to give us 465 pixels per inch it’s impossible for top refresh rates on the lower models to expect a 60 hertz display  but we should be seeing this shorter notch  with apple continuing to prove that huge amounts  of ram are just not required it should be equipped  with four gigs of ram and a choice of 64 128 or  256 storage were expecting another aluminum  frame to reduce the cost although again the body  should be looking similar to that of the pros  and the iPhone 13 mini is going to come with dual  cameras on the rear consisting of a 12 megapixel  wide angle and a 12 megapixel ultra wide and it  will of course ship with ios 15. for those that  want the four gigs of ram with 64 gigs of storage  its likely gonna launch at a price of around 700  for 128 gig it should be around 750 dollars and  for the 256 gig it should be around 850 dollars  next up.

We’ve got the iPhone 13 the iPhone  13 is going to have a 6.1 inch oiled display  with a resolution of 2532 by 1170 and this gives  us 460 pixels per inch again we only expect this model to be having a 60hz display and no ltpo technology but again it's going to have a smaller notch we expect four gigs of ram alongside a choice of 64 128 or 256 storage and therefore the phone should  have an aluminum frame were expecting a 12  megapixel wide angle and a 12 megapixel ultra wide  giving us another dual camera setup and the  phone is going to ship with ios 15. for the  64 gig model were expecting around 800 if  you want 128 gigs it should be around 850  for the 256 gig version it should be around 950  next up we’ve got the iPhone 13 pro and here’s  where things are going to change a little bit  although we are expecting a similar looking device  the iPhone 13 pro is expected to come with a 6.1  inch oiled display with a resolution of 1170x2532  and this gives us 460 pixels per inch not only  is it going to be brighter but it’s also going  to be using ltpo technology and provide us  with a 120hz variable refresh rate at a full  resolution were not expecting any increase of  ram as the a15 is going to be more than capable  so expect six gigs of ram with a choice of 128  256 512 and maybe even a huge one terabytes of  storage because this is the more premium model we  also expect another still frame and on the iPhone  13 pro we should be getting a quad camera setup  this is going to be a 12 megapixel wide angle  a 12 megapixel ultra wide a 12 megapixel telephoto  and a lidar sensor the phone will of course ship  with ios 15 when it comes to pricing we do expect  some small price increases with this new display  technology so were estimating that 128 gigs may  be around 1050 for 256 it could be around 1150  for 512 it could be 1 350 and if the one terabyte  happens then we could expect a whopping 1  50 now finally.

Apple iPhone 13

We’ve got the most premium model  the iPhone 13 pro max the iPhone 13 pro max is  expected to come with a 6.7 inch oiled display  with a resolution of 1128 by 2778 giving us 458  pixels per inch again it’s going to be brighter  it’s also going to be using the ltpo technology  and provide us with that 120 hertz variable  refresh rate display we can expect six gigs  of ram with a choice of 128 256 512 and again if  the leaks are true then one terabyte of storage  again were expecting another still frame on the  iPhone 13 pro max and another quad camera setup  again this will be a 12 megapixel wide angle 12  megapixel ultra wide a 12 megapixel telephoto and  the lidar sensor now the phone is of course gonna  ship with ios 15 when it comes to pricing again  we expect this increase so were estimating for  128 gig its 1 150 for 256 gig it could be 1250  for 512 it could be 1450 and if this one terabyte  storage happens then we could see around 1 650  which is an incredibly huge price tag so of  course with so many leaks floating around things  won’t be clear until we get closer to launch  and prototypes are made and hopefully leaked  as always though if anything surfaces I’m going  to be sharing it with you guys straight away  but I’d like to know your thoughts in the comments  who out there is excited for the apple iPhone 13  and what do you think about having no touch id  but thanks for watching the video if you liked  it smash a thumbs up if you didn’t hit the thumbs  down twice and I’ll see you guys in the next one you.

The AdLib Gold Experience

Greetings folks, and today on LGR I am proud to present the fabled AdLib Gold 1000 Stereo Sound Adapter. An IBM PC-compatible sound card which, after multiple delays, launched at a suggested price of $299 in the US sometime in late 1992. More or less, its release is a bit complicated but we’ll get to that. For now lemme just go ahead and say how much I’m freak in’ out with excitement recording this footage. Cuz dude, seeing an AdLib Gold in person, still in the box, unused? Among retro PC enthusiasts, that’s like finding a golden unicorn that craps diamonds, it’s just not a thing. Yet here it is, looking’ spiffy! And it’s all thanks to Trixter, aka Jim Leonard of The Old-school PC, Check out his YouTube channel if you’re into this kind of thing too, the man’s a fountain of knowledge and some of the items in his collection are literally one of a kind. Not the least of which being this pristine AdLib Gold 1000, a card that I’ve been wondering about ever since I was eight years old lookin...

Apple Keyboard Evolution 1983-2015

I don’t have a Lisa Keyboard, and they’re quite rare and expensive. But here’s what it looked like, it was quite large and clunky. Although not really any wider than a modern Apple keyboard . So, this is the original Macintosh keyboard. It’s kind of tall, and notice that it has no arrow keys, no function keys and no number pad. Apparently, Steve Jobs believed that everybody would use the mouse for everything, except typing. It uses an RJ-11 type connector, similar to a phone cord. The mouse actually had its own separate connector, and did not connect to the keyboard at all. This is about as basic as it gets. I can plug my telephone into it, for some reason. So, one thing I noticed about this is that there are no indicators on where to put your fingers. I’ve never heard a keyboard echo before. It’s not real springy or anything. It does have… …metallic kind of noise to it. But, DAVID: This is the Apple Desktop Bus keyboard. As the name suggests, this was the first keyboard to use the new...

IBM 8516 Touchscreen CRT Monitor

Greetings and welcome to LGR Oddware where were taking a look at hardware and software that is odd, forgotten, and obsolete! And today it is the IBM 8516 CRT touchscreen from the beginning of the 1990s. And yeah you can touch and draw and do all kinds of things that you would normally do with a mouse or light pen or whatever else -- just with your fingers! And so let’s see what this thing is and what it can do. All right so this is the IBM PS/2 Model 8516 13-inch CRT touchscreen monitor first introduced in June of 1991 for a suggested retail price of $1695 US dollars, holy crap. That would be almost $3,100 at the time of this recording, not a cheap price for a 13-inch VGA monitor back then.  It was built by IBM to be compatible with PCs running DOS, Windows 3 -- and IBM OS/2 of course, because they were still pushing it rather hard when this came out. And as advanced and awesome as it was for its time it was not the first of its kind as far as touchscreen CRTs, not by a long shot....

The best gaming laptop for MS-DOS games

The other day, I used to be reading this old Computes Gazette magazine from 1983. and that I saw this card you'll send off for more information. happen if I filled it out and sent it off? Well, stick around till the top and I'll show you the result. Most of the time, stepping into Retro Gaming are often quite challenge. Even the old Atari 2600 her, for instance, it are often very challenging to seek out a contemporary TV or monitor that you simply. On the brilliant side, the games are pretty easy to affect. All you've got to try to to is locate them online, or thrift shop, or whatever and you purchase the sport, and you recognize, But, things get even harder once you start watching old computers. For instance, the Commodore 64 uses a disk format that's essentially foreign today.  It's no means to attach to the web, and albeit you've got a pile of blank disks, getting the games copied over to them from the web could be a nightmare. Now, if you fast forward just a...

Strangest Computer Designs of the '80s

OMG Mr. LGR!!! You made my day showing the Seiko computer watch series. I collect these things and Have almost  the entire lineup up including the weird UC-2200. The only one I'm missing is the "wrist mac" which was essentially a Seiko RC4400 but marketed and sold for Apple. It could be considered the first apple watch! That design for the Elwro-800 actually seems pretty good and I wish I had it for the C64 back in the day. That wire holder could have been used for holding a computer magazine with a user made program which they always had in the magazines back in the day. Even now it would be good for data input from a written copy, or even writers who like to get their pre-writing done on paper. They were the machines we were taught Turing language on -- and compiling even a tiny Turing program on them was unbelievably slow.  I really liked the GUI on them though, but we never really used the GUI much; all the programming we did was in a text file run through a compiler ...

The Advantech I.Q. Unlimited with BASIC and a Z80 CPU.

Hello, and welcome back to the 8-Bit Guy. In this episode, I want to show you this bizarre little computer known as the IQ Unlimited by Advantech. Now, you might be wondering “What is this company Advantech?” Well, if you turn the computer over you’ll see it was actually produced by Video Technology Electronics, otherwise known as V-Tech.” Yes, that’s the same V-Tech that has produced tons of cordless telephones, kids learning computers, baby monitors, and a variety of other things. They are also the ones that built the Laser 128, which was an Apple II clone, along with the matching Laser XT which was a PC clone. They also produced the laser line of portable computers, and even a series of proprietary desktop computers that carried the laser brand name. So, needless to say V-Tech is no stranger to making computers. But, I think this may be the strangest one they ever made. The front of the box claims it to be complete, powerful, simple, and affordable. They are also those that built th...

Words of Krom Ngoy

Words of Kram Ngoy This Brahma song is translated to tell Khmer men and women To be mindful should be diligent. Do not be lazy, do not be too stupid, try to learn numbers, learn the alphabet Learn all the virtues, supernatural wisdom combined with ideas. Born to see through, even from afar           Really good at thinking about everything. Fools do not wake up like blind people on both sides           There is no image of a cheap sinner born ignorant. The human race, though high and low, descended from the Pao clan.           Evil, good, black and white, cut off descendants like ancestors. Ignorant people are not venerated as a religion           The monks know the Dharma, the students study hard. The ignorant breed is not very wise, the crooked breed is not very gentle           Straight seed until the true seed does not disappear. Innoc...

Fast roaming OpenWrt Wi-Fi Access points

Before we start let me do a test. I have my  phone here which measures my Wi-Fi speed and  another phone which I use as a camera in  the other hand. I start on the 2nd floor  where I have an access point. As you can see speed  is quite OK. It won’t go much higher because I  capped it. I’ll explain in a second. Let me start  moving towards the staircase to the 1st floor.  As I do that you can see that the speed goes  down while I walk down the stairs until it starts  moving back up because I picked up the signal  from the 2nd access point here on the first floor.  Let me keep moving down to the basement. It’s  all concrete here so Wi-Fi gets weakened a lot.   But it doesn’t take long until I  get closer to the 3rd access point  here in the basement and speed picks up.  Walking back upstairs - same scenario.  How do I do that so seamlessly without  interruption of signal ? Is it a  Mes...

Will Kill Your Computer

Hey guys, this is Austin, and this is the USB Killer. Now, it might not look like much, however this will straight up kill your computer. So, this is a device that’s used to test hardware, so while it looks like an ordinary USB device, instead, there’s a series of capacitors inside. So, if you plug it into a computer, it will charge those capacitors up, and once they’re full it turns around and releases all of that power at 240 volts straight back into the computer, in theory killing it. It doesn’t take much to be able to pop this thing open. Now, before we proceed: Do not try this at home. Seriously. Not only is it very possible for this thing to kill electronics, but it’s also. And by being careful, I mean don’t try this at home. We have an Asus Chrome book.  Now, USB Killer claims that this is going to work on around 95 percent of computers, and the reason for that is that while some computers have properly capped USB ports, most have completely unprotected ports, which means th...
