Why Steve Jobs Didn't Have a License Plate

What do you realize about Steve Jobs, the mythical co-founding father of Apple, who created one of the greatest gadgets of our time? Turns out, he became a person of mystery, and inside the most literal sense of the word. Just think about it, he'd been riding a automobile around Silicon Valley without a registration code for years on stop! That meant breaking the law, which calls for all passenger vehicles to have tags.

Some believed that he did it simply because he ought to. Call it a rebellious spirit if you want. Or perhaps he wanted to defend his privateers through any manner feasible. Someone even came up with the concept that it changed into the font on the plate that he didn’t like. After all, he changed into a perfectionist in every manner, so maybe he simply notion an unsightly plate could break his stunning vehicle.

What do about Steve Jobs, the mythical co-founding father of Apple, who created one of the best gadgets of our time?
Turns out, he became a person of thriller, and within the maximum literal experience of the word. Just think about it, had been driving a automobile round Silicon Valley without a registration code for years on give up!

Someone even came up with the principle that it became the font on the plate that he didn’t like. After all, he became a perfectionist in every manner, so maybe he truly concept an unsightly plate would spoil his stunning vehicle. Whatever the purpose, he controlled to bend the guidelines again and again. No wonder a group of theories approximately it emerged.

According to one of them, he had a few type of association with the nearby police, who granted him unique rights to force with out quite a number on his Benz. Another said he just paid the $ 250 ticket each time an officer stopped him. Some even said that it became all due to his fanatics, who stole his plates every time he put them on. As it became out, the real rationalization changed into far sneakier than that. A few years again, California laws allowed people to pressure without a plates for six months after buying a new vehicle.

First he were given a car, used it for half of a yr, and while the grace length became over, he replaced it with a brand new one. The thrilling element is that each one this time he stayed actual to one emblem and model, the Mercedes SL55 AMG. He even caught to the equal coloration, best buying silver ones. I bet the leasing organization turned into quite glad to have any such regular customer. Don’t strive to drag off a trick like that on your personal, even though.

Since January 2019, automobile owners in California need to install brief plates proper away, just like in the other states. But riding anonymously wasn’t the simplest atypical quirk Jobs had. He also had some weird eating conduct. He becomes regularly on a weight loss program with simplest one or particular kinds of food allowed.
Why Steve Jobs Didn't Have a License Plate
For instance, he might consume not anything however apples for weeks. One time he ate so many carrots, his pores and skin grew to become a little bit orange. Sometimes he may want to move with none food for a couple of days. What’s greater, he believed that fruit diets and fasting come what may have made his body purifier. He additionally didn’t think he ever were given body smell, so he didn’t see the want to bathe every day, or use deodorant.

But legend has it that lower back in the Nineteen Seventies, whilst Jobs nevertheless worked at Atari, his scent horrified his colleagues so much he ended up doing night shifts. What can I say, Steve Jobs did suppose in a different way, just like in an vintage Apple motto. And that applies to different a hit and rich human beings too. Ingvar Kamprad, who created IKEA, had billions of bucks in his account.

But nevertheless, he lived just like any other man or woman. He had an vintage reasonably-priced Volvo, but preferred to journey through bus. He did his buying at flea markets, and always wrote on each sides of a sheet of paper. But he had some extremes too. Though he may want to afford definitely some thing, he skimmed salt and pepper packets from cafes, and handiest had his hair cut whilst he traveled. Apparently, in Sweden it’s too expensive!

Speaking of reasonably-priced: how approximately taking baths without using any water?
Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding fathers of the USA, cherished air baths. Every morning earlier than paintings, had open the home windows in his residence to let the kick back in. And that’s how he’d spend approximately an hour, stark-naked. He called it a ‘tonic bath’ and believed it advanced his fitness. Old Ben absolutely lived to be 84, so perhaps he had a point. Bill Gates has an unusual approach that specializes in his ideas. To help him think, he sits down in a rocking chair and quietly swings to and fro.

That’s how Microsoft’s co-founder comes up with an answer every time he finds himself in a difficult situation. He’s saved this way of life because he changed into university, and it’s been so powerful that his work partners have picked it up over the years.

And talking of license plates, Gates extensively utilized them in a quite unconventional manner.
In his early years as a chairman at Microsoft, he used to learn the numbers of all his employees plates, and now not just to train his memory.

That’s how he checked when they arrived on the office or left for domestic. .Inventor Thomas Edison became additionally fantastically picky about his personnel, however in any other way. To work for him, a person needed to skip the salt take a look at. During an interview, Edison gave the candidate a bowl of soup. If they added salt without tasting it first, he didn’t rent them.

He wanted his assistants to try out the records earlier than making assumptions. Sounds bizarre, however logical at the equal time, in case you question me. Seems like wealthy human beings have all of the approach to make their paintings as snug and powerful as feasible, right?
Why Steve Jobs Didn't Have a License Plate
Author Jonathan Franzen manages perfectly without luxury hotel rooms or super expensive resources.
At least that’s how he penned one in every of his nice books “The Corrections”.
Sounds like an excellent way to beat procrastination too. Howard Hughes changed into probably the maximum eccentric billionaire the world has ever seen. He changed into a pilot, an inventor, and a filmmaker.

But his oddities are just as famous as his achievements. He turned into terrified of germs a lot he couldn’t even touch his silverware with out wrapping it in tissues first. He became additionally a real recluse. Once he spent over four months looking movies, ingesting milk and ingesting chocolate bars. Wait for it. He did not depart the room the complete time; he hadn’t had a bathtub, and had to urinate in bottles. Well then.

Not in contrast to Hughes, first rate scientist Nikola Tesla, detested micro organism. He wore gloves at almost all instances, and didn’t shake arms with anyone. And of course, he made sure all his liquids and food have been very well boiled. At least this had a logical clarification: he claimed that this fear got here after he placed his glass of water beneath the microscope and saw some "terrible creatures".

He was additionally so obsessed with making time for his experiments that he was given the most effective 2 hours of sleep in step with day. Instead of zoning out for the entire night time, he took brief naps at some point of the daylight hours. Business wealthy person Warren Buffett also has a quite time-consuming dependancy. He reads 500 pages every day.

Just think about it: he devotes approximately 80% of his time to reading and reflecting on it. He claims that’s a sure manner to enhance your know-how. And it’s not just some thing he does for amusing, because the knowledge he won thru reading helped him make greater informed choices throughout his profession.

And in case you suppose he has so much time for books and reviews seeing that he’s already a billionaire and in his 80s, that’s not exactly real. When he began out as an investor, he examined up to at least one, 000 pages per day. If that’s now not extraordinary, I don’t recognize what is. Everyone has their very own method to self-development and motivation. Stephen King discovered that he can’t start writing with out a slice of cheesecake. Who’d have thought that the grasp of horror has, in fact, a sweet teeth!

Seems like it runs inside the circle of relatives, for the reason that his son, who happens to be a writer too, nibbles on crème brulee earlier than sitting right down to work. Do you have an amusing dependancy your self, some thing you do often to cheer up and get within the proper mood?
Share it down in the remarks!

He turned into one of the richest human beings in records, however he did not spend his fortune on lavish feasts and heavy meals like his rich contemporaries. He idea of the human frame as a machine that needed the proper gasoline to work well. And for him, that turned into simple weeds he from time to time plucked himself.

He ate them clean, stewed and boiled. And when he had visitors, he served them soybean sandwiches and burdock. A hundred years have surpassed for the reason that then, but I’m sure a menu like this would shock most people, even today. Bottom Line: All these people suppose one-of-a-kind - then act on it. And to a certain degree, they’ve all modified the sector.

Apple Keyboard Evolution 1983-2015

I don’t have a Lisa Keyboard, and they’re quite rare and expensive. But here’s what it looked like, it was quite large and clunky. Although not really any wider than a modern Apple keyboard . So, this is the original Macintosh keyboard. It’s kind of tall, and notice that it has no arrow keys, no function keys and no number pad. Apparently, Steve Jobs believed that everybody would use the mouse for everything, except typing. It uses an RJ-11 type connector, similar to a phone cord. The mouse actually had its own separate connector, and did not connect to the keyboard at all. This is about as basic as it gets. I can plug my telephone into it, for some reason. So, one thing I noticed about this is that there are no indicators on where to put your fingers. I’ve never heard a keyboard echo before. It’s not real springy or anything. It does have… …metallic kind of noise to it. But, DAVID: This is the Apple Desktop Bus keyboard. As the name suggests, this was the first keyboard to use the new

The AdLib Gold Experience

Greetings folks, and today on LGR I am proud to present the fabled AdLib Gold 1000 Stereo Sound Adapter. An IBM PC-compatible sound card which, after multiple delays, launched at a suggested price of $299 in the US sometime in late 1992. More or less, its release is a bit complicated but we’ll get to that. For now lemme just go ahead and say how much I’m freak in’ out with excitement recording this footage. Cuz dude, seeing an AdLib Gold in person, still in the box, unused? Among retro PC enthusiasts, that’s like finding a golden unicorn that craps diamonds, it’s just not a thing. Yet here it is, looking’ spiffy! And it’s all thanks to Trixter, aka Jim Leonard of The Old-school PC, Check out his YouTube channel if you’re into this kind of thing too, the man’s a fountain of knowledge and some of the items in his collection are literally one of a kind. Not the least of which being this pristine AdLib Gold 1000, a card that I’ve been wondering about ever since I was eight years old lookin

IBM 8516 Touchscreen CRT Monitor

Greetings and welcome to LGR Oddware where were taking a look at hardware and software that is odd, forgotten, and obsolete! And today it is the IBM 8516 CRT touchscreen from the beginning of the 1990s. And yeah you can touch and draw and do all kinds of things that you would normally do with a mouse or light pen or whatever else -- just with your fingers! And so let’s see what this thing is and what it can do. All right so this is the IBM PS/2 Model 8516 13-inch CRT touchscreen monitor first introduced in June of 1991 for a suggested retail price of $1695 US dollars, holy crap. That would be almost $3,100 at the time of this recording, not a cheap price for a 13-inch VGA monitor back then.  It was built by IBM to be compatible with PCs running DOS, Windows 3 -- and IBM OS/2 of course, because they were still pushing it rather hard when this came out. And as advanced and awesome as it was for its time it was not the first of its kind as far as touchscreen CRTs, not by a long shot.  For

The best gaming laptop for MS-DOS games

The other day, I used to be reading this old Computes Gazette magazine from 1983. and that I saw this card you'll send off for more information. happen if I filled it out and sent it off? Well, stick around till the top and I'll show you the result. Most of the time, stepping into Retro Gaming are often quite challenge. Even the old Atari 2600 her, for instance, it are often very challenging to seek out a contemporary TV or monitor that you simply. On the brilliant side, the games are pretty easy to affect. All you've got to try to to is locate them online, or thrift shop, or whatever and you purchase the sport, and you recognize, But, things get even harder once you start watching old computers. For instance, the Commodore 64 uses a disk format that's essentially foreign today.  It's no means to attach to the web, and albeit you've got a pile of blank disks, getting the games copied over to them from the web could be a nightmare. Now, if you fast forward just a

Strangest Computer Designs of the '80s

OMG Mr. LGR!!! You made my day showing the Seiko computer watch series. I collect these things and Have almost  the entire lineup up including the weird UC-2200. The only one I'm missing is the "wrist mac" which was essentially a Seiko RC4400 but marketed and sold for Apple. It could be considered the first apple watch! That design for the Elwro-800 actually seems pretty good and I wish I had it for the C64 back in the day. That wire holder could have been used for holding a computer magazine with a user made program which they always had in the magazines back in the day. Even now it would be good for data input from a written copy, or even writers who like to get their pre-writing done on paper. They were the machines we were taught Turing language on -- and compiling even a tiny Turing program on them was unbelievably slow.  I really liked the GUI on them though, but we never really used the GUI much; all the programming we did was in a text file run through a compiler

The Advantech I.Q. Unlimited with BASIC and a Z80 CPU.

Hello, and welcome back to the 8-Bit Guy. In this episode, I want to show you this bizarre little computer known as the IQ Unlimited by Advantech. Now, you might be wondering “What is this company Advantech?” Well, if you turn the computer over you’ll see it was actually produced by Video Technology Electronics, otherwise known as V-Tech.” Yes, that’s the same V-Tech that has produced tons of cordless telephones, kids learning computers, baby monitors, and a variety of other things. They are also the ones that built the Laser 128, which was an Apple II clone, along with the matching Laser XT which was a PC clone. They also produced the laser line of portable computers, and even a series of proprietary desktop computers that carried the laser brand name. So, needless to say V-Tech is no stranger to making computers. But, I think this may be the strangest one they ever made. The front of the box claims it to be complete, powerful, simple, and affordable. They are also those that built th

Words of Krom Ngoy

Words of Kram Ngoy This Brahma song is translated to tell Khmer men and women To be mindful should be diligent. Do not be lazy, do not be too stupid, try to learn numbers, learn the alphabet Learn all the virtues, supernatural wisdom combined with ideas. Born to see through, even from afar           Really good at thinking about everything. Fools do not wake up like blind people on both sides           There is no image of a cheap sinner born ignorant. The human race, though high and low, descended from the Pao clan.           Evil, good, black and white, cut off descendants like ancestors. Ignorant people are not venerated as a religion           The monks know the Dharma, the students study hard. The ignorant breed is not very wise, the crooked breed is not very gentle           Straight seed until the true seed does not disappear. Innocent parents do not want their children to be ignorant           Cursing for the children to know. Ignorant father sees his son never angry

Fast roaming OpenWrt Wi-Fi Access points

Before we start let me do a test. I have my  phone here which measures my Wi-Fi speed and  another phone which I use as a camera in  the other hand. I start on the 2nd floor  where I have an access point. As you can see speed  is quite OK. It won’t go much higher because I  capped it. I’ll explain in a second. Let me start  moving towards the staircase to the 1st floor.  As I do that you can see that the speed goes  down while I walk down the stairs until it starts  moving back up because I picked up the signal  from the 2nd access point here on the first floor.  Let me keep moving down to the basement. It’s  all concrete here so Wi-Fi gets weakened a lot.   But it doesn’t take long until I  get closer to the 3rd access point  here in the basement and speed picks up.  Walking back upstairs - same scenario.  How do I do that so seamlessly without  interruption of signal ? Is it a  Mesh ? Is it magic ? Stay tuned. So many people promote Wi-Fi mesh these days. And  if you observe this the

Will Kill Your Computer

Hey guys, this is Austin, and this is the USB Killer. Now, it might not look like much, however this will straight up kill your computer. So, this is a device that’s used to test hardware, so while it looks like an ordinary USB device, instead, there’s a series of capacitors inside. So, if you plug it into a computer, it will charge those capacitors up, and once they’re full it turns around and releases all of that power at 240 volts straight back into the computer, in theory killing it. It doesn’t take much to be able to pop this thing open. Now, before we proceed: Do not try this at home. Seriously. Not only is it very possible for this thing to kill electronics, but it’s also. And by being careful, I mean don’t try this at home. We have an Asus Chrome book.  Now, USB Killer claims that this is going to work on around 95 percent of computers, and the reason for that is that while some computers have properly capped USB ports, most have completely unprotected ports, which means that i
