I’m going to be letting you into my personal space; I mean you’re already in my personal space but I’m gonna draw you in just and a little bit more. One thing I will say before I show you this... I have not always been this way. I really haven’t. I became a Christian in 2018–in case you haven’t watched the video or you’re not familiar with my story–then please do watch the video straight after this video and yeah that’s just the encourage you. Please don’t feel intimidated because this has been a journey. A journey. You say with me...A journey.
So I have currently got my laptop here, because I have written down some things that want to share with you. And do you know what? I’m gonna be honest with you. I wanted to try and freestyle this. I wanted to try and remember everything by memory so that you can think I’m really cool and I know everything. But guess what? That wasn’t the reality and there’s some real gems that I’ve got written down that I want to share with you and I don’t want to forget them. So I thought hey, I’m gonna look at my screen and talk to you at the same time. Okay, alright, so let’s get straight into it. Alright, so now what I’m going to do is... I’m going to explain how spending time in the morning has drawn me closer to God. The first thing that I will say is spending time with God first thing in the morning has just allowed me to be in a space where no distractions or less distractions; well in my case no distractions and just literally being quiet.
He who dwells in the shelter of the most high will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty whose power no enemy can withstand. I want to paint a picture... think of the secret places that we enjoyed hiding in as children. Imagine being 10 years old and finding a secret hiding place under the stairs or in the bushes.
You slipped inside that secret place and as you did it felt magical; you felt safe. You felt protected from the world. Now you imagined that you could live there and all the times you were there no one could find you. God has a secret hiding place and He invites us to join Him there. And notice that He doesn’t invite us to visit...He invites us to dwell to; abide; to stay; to remain. The promise is to those who dwell there. To dwell means to live there it becomes our address.
God invites us to pack up and move in you know to His secret place. But to do this we have to walk away from conforming to cultures; to society’s way of doing things. We just have to be willing to invest in our quiet time with God. We must be willing to quiet our hearts and just allow Him to investigate those innermost things about us that you know.. we reveal to nobody else.
The secret place is a place where we can be transparent and really honest with God. So that’s it for this week’s video.
